Missionary Health Service (MHS)

Missionary Health Service was founded in 1992 as a Humanitarian Service Organization to provide health service for the poor and needy in rural Honduras. We are a nonprofit 501 (C) 3 charter with the IRS to operate the mission with tax exempt funds from donors and participating volunteers. We are an interfaith Christian organization and welcome volunteers and financial support.

Our Philosophy
Health education is one of the most important jobs to be done on any mission. It is the cornerstone of our program and its effects will remain long after our presence and our pills are gone.

Working together as a team, we can and do make a difference. Because of our caring, and despite hardships or circumstances, we give it our best effort, remaining flexible while recognizing the needs of our teammates. We intend to administer our services to the needy people, but not without regard to our team’s health and safety.

Our ecumenical, non-denominational work and our sharing as a team are a personal statement and our organization’s statement: "that we go to help the poor and needy who are these, the least of these, our brethren." Matt. 25:40

Our MHS Organization insists upon honoring and respecting the people and culture of our host country where we are visitors.

Our MHS Board of Trustees, officers and entire organization are firmly and emphatically opposed to accepting any applicant who either uses or deals with any illegal drugs or substances.

We realize that a degree or a talent alone is not sufficient for mission work. One’s love and compassion for people is most essential!
